The future is PowerLine

The future is PowerLine

Powerline adaptors have been an essential part of the home to ensure that we can all enjoy our streaming and smart and connected home devices.

What are Powerline Adaptors?

Quite simply put they are a simple to install digital home technology product for WiFi which provide faster speeds when connecting devices to your network, regardless of whether or not they're in the same room as your router.

They use your home's main power wires to create a network connection that in most cases is faster than your WiFi. Some powerline kits can also create WiFi hotspots to give you a wireless signal in rooms or areas that your router can't reach.

Powerlines are usually a better option than WiFi extenders or repeaters which just tend to push a weak signal around the house.

Easy to install - you simply plug one adaptor into a power socket near your router and attach it to the router with an ethernet cable which are usually supplied with the kit. You then go to the room where the device is which you want to hook up to the network, in this room plug in your second adaptor into a nearby socket and then connect another ethernet cable from here to the device you want to get online.

That's it - plug and play!

What if I need WiFi?

As already said, some Powerline adaptors do have built in WiFi which gives the ability to create a new wireless network in the second room. This then allows you to get a stronger and faster signal for your tablet, smartphone, laptop or any other gadget you may be using.

Also consider Powerlines with an integrated 'pass through' power socket and therefore doesn't take up a valuable wall socket.
