Googles Project Wing drone

Drone deliveries may not be that far away. Google claims that their Project Wing will start delivering our goods in 2017.

Speaking at an air traffic control convention in Washington, Project Wing project leader David Vos said: "Our goal is to have a commercial business up and running in 2017."

The project has been in testing for over a year, but most the details had been kept quiet. Last month a video of the drone flying about had emerged. Google have claimed it will be able to cover five miles in five minutes.

As well as standard deliveries, the drones could be used to airlift in food and supplies to emergency situations.

Amazon are also readying their own delivery system.

I hope we do see drones floating about with our deliveries it will be pretty cool receiving your order within an hour. Although I'm guessing it may be a pretty costly delivery charge.
